  • Brief Description
Bombinin-Like Peptide (BLP-1) is an antimicrobial peptide from Bombina species.
  • Description
Bombinin-Like Peptide (BLP-1) is an antimicrobial peptide from Bombina species.(In Vitro):Bombinin-like peptides, BLP-1, 2, 3 share considerable, but not complete, homology with bombinin, an antimicrobial, hemolytic peptide first isolated from the skin of Bombina uariegata. The BLPs have been assayed for antibiotic and hemolytic activity and found to be more potent than magainin 2 (a related antimicrobial peptide from Xenopus laeuis) in their ability to kill bacteria.
